“ADOLPHUS BROWN, of Attalia, representative in the Legislature, 1915, from Etowah county, was born April 28, 1867 at Talladega, Talladega county, Ala.; is the son of Oakley and Catherine (Lawrence ) Brown, both natives of S.C….
He received his education in Talladega. He operates a grist mill, cotton gin, cotton warehouse and a coal mine. He is a Democrat; has served as steward in the Methodist Church or fifteen years; and is a Mason, and Knight of Pythias. On Oct. 19, 1903, at Lincoln Ala., he was married to Lelia, daughter of Z. and Sarah (Ware) Henderson, of Rageland Ala.”
