The Maryland 400 was involved in NC at Guilford Court House, while their uniform/hat, with white binding caused consternation and confusion among the British as the soldiers continued the war in the South. The family of “Moreheads”, later Gov. of NC were part of the Maryland people. A statue of their Grandmother is located at the entrance to the Guilford Courthouse historical center.
