Thomas A. Ware (1876 – )

Who is T.A. Ware?  John Stein, one of our members, found this image on a photo website for old pictures and sent this to me.  The only information given with the image was 1906 University of North Dakota Yearbook, member of the Debate Team.  The University is located in Grand Forks N.D.


“WARE, Thomas A. Lawyer, banker: born near Central City Iowa, Oct. 29, 1876; son of Floyd J. and Mary (Gardner) Ware; graduated from Epworth Seminary, Epworth. Iowa, 1900; Cornell College. Mt. Vernon, Iowa, A. B., 1904; University of North Dakota. A. M, 1907; Law College of same. LL. B., 1907. (winner of Bennett Essay Prize, 1907, leader of winning university debating team with Manitoba University in International debate at Winnipeg, 1906). Started Bank of Troy Mills (a pioneer institution of the kind in its town), March, 1908, is now its cashier. Republican (progressive), Methodist, Author: The Story of the Centuries (Cochrane Publishing Co., N. Y. City), and lectured on The Rise of the Common People. Club: Varsity Bachelor (University of North Dakota). Address: Troy Mills.”
