“SUDDENLY CALLED AWAY
Bear Lake, Dec. 29, 1919
John H. Ware aged 60 years, died of a paralytic stroke at his home in Bear Lake township Saturday, Dec. 27.
Mr. Ware suffered a similar stroke about two years ago but recovered sufficiently so that he was able to get around and do light work. He seemed to be in his usual health Saturday morning. He attended to some chores and was splitting some wood in the driving shed but when one of the members of his family went out to call him to dinner he was found lying against the thills of the cutter, unable to speak. He was carried into the house and everything possible done for him but he passed away about 6:30 p. m. without recovering the power of speech. Mr. Ware was a resident of Bear Lake township for 51 years, coming here from Canada at the age of nine.
The funeral services will be held at the McKnight schoolhouse at 10 o’clock this forenoon.
John Henry Ware was born near Norwichville, Ontario, Canada, Dec. 8, 1859, and died at his home near Bear Lake Dec. 27, 1919, aged 60 years and 19 days.
When nine years old he came to Bear Lake to live with his aunt, Mrs. David Anderson, with whom he resided until the age of nineteen. In 1882 he was united in marriage to Miss Grace Bond. To this union four children were born. In 1891 he suffered the loss of his wife. On Jan. 26, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Jessie Bond. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive him.
Besides his first wife he was preceded into the Great Beyond by his youngest son Leslie, who died in 1913 at the age of eight years.
Besides a host of friends and relatives he leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Mrs. John Ware, one daughter,; Mrs. Howard Fauble of Tustin, Michigan, and ten sons, Everal of Onekama, Lawrence of Pontiac, Burt, Ray, Ward, Emery, Charlie, Harry, Ray and Willis who reside in Bear Lake township.”
