Edna (Ma) Dye Ware, 87, of Hiwassee Dam Community, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 at Murphy Medical Center.
Mrs. Ware was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC. She was a daughter of the late John Washington and Minnie Pearl Berry Dye. She enjoyed traveling and spending her summers in Florida. Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a Braves fan. She was a member of Bear Paw Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ware was preceded in death by her husband, Lake Ware; a son, Colon Ware; a daughter, Pauline Crowder, great-grandson, Scotty Monkus and six sisters, Fannie Spencer, Annie Carswell, Bonnie Brooks, Gladys Best, Bertha Pearson, and Wilda Ware.
She is survived by four sons and their wives, Lawrence (Bud) Charles and Annalou Ware of Hayesville, Eddie Dean and Becky Ware of Murphy, Robert Paul and Debby Ware of Lake City,Florida and Ronald Terry and Juanita Ware of Hayesville, NC; six daughters; Catherine Wiggins and husband, Douglas of Hiwassee Dam, Janice Johnson and husband, David of Hiwassee Dam, Diane White and husband, Elvin of Hiwassee Dam, Debra Ann Hughes and husband, Manson of Brasstown, Ruth White and husband, Terry of Hiwassee Dam and Sherry Lynn Burrelll and husband Dennis of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter-in-law, Gladys Ware; 28 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, including Jeffery Kimbrell of the home; four great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Bear Paw Baptist Church. Preacher Allen and Pastor Steve Ware will officiate. Interment will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronald Ware, Robert Ware, Dean Ware, Bud Ware, Randy Wiggins, and Randell Kimbrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Laney, Ray Ware, James Hughes, Brian Hogan, Jeffery Kimbrell, Douglas Ware, Daniel Taylor, Chris Monkus and Brian Langley
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday, June 28, 2010 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Edna Dye Ware to the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o T. L. McNabb, 186 Friendship Church Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
