Frances Evelyn Bonds Ware, 2008

“Kannapolis, N.C. – Frances Evelyn Bonds Ware, of Kannapolis, N.C., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2008, after several years of declining health.

She was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Edgar A. Bonds and Molly Corl Bonds.

She had lived in Kannapolis all her life until 2001 when she moved to Crouse to be near her children. She was a graduate of Cannon High School and worked for Cannon Mills Cotton Department for many years. Evelyn never met a stranger and was always kind to everyone she knew. She was a lifelong Democrat who worked tirelessly for John F. Kennedy’s campaign.

She collected cardinals and loved to feed birds and watch them. Her main loves were her love for God and her family.

Thanks to the people at Lincoln Nursing Center for the special care given to her while she was there. A special thanks to Phillip Hefner. Also thanks to Dr. Okafor for his smile and deep caring attitude.

Those who met her in Heaven, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Mark Rudisill Ware; brothers, W.W. “Tubby” Bonds, James O. “Jim” Bonds, H. Blair Bonds, Harold Lacy Bonds and Wilburn Baxter Bonds; and sisters, Edna Mae Bonds Cannon and Lois Agnes Bonds Hartis Castor.

Those who survive include a daughter, Anne Bonds Ware Black and husband, A.M. (Bud) Black, of Crouse; two sons, Mark Rudisill Ware Jr. of Zionville and Edgar Leone Ware and wife, Dana, of Crouse. Her grandchildren include A. Melton Black Jr. “Mel” and wife, Erin, of Gastonia, Charles Wesley Black and wife, Beverly, of Lincolnton, Elizabeth Ware Ridder and husband, Richard, of Mechanicsville, Va.; Mark Rudisill Ware III and wife, Laura, of Nashville, Tenn., Dana Logan Ware of Crouse and Blake Ware of Lincolnton. Her great-grandchildren include Matthew Ridder and Evan Ridder of Mechanicsville, Va., Andrew Melton Black and Marion Tracy Black of Gastonia and Annslee Ware of Nashville, Tenn. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
