Alva A. Ware Obituary, 1959

“JACKSON CENTER – Alva A. Ware, 93, of Jackson Center, died at his home Thursday at 9:30 a.m. He had been ill for one month.

He was born Oct. 28, 1865, in Fairfield County. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Ware was married twice. His first wife, Elizabeth Maranda, died in 1935. In October 1936, he married Cora Manor, and she survives.

Also surviving are three sons and one daughter: Lloyd A. Ware, Rt. 6, Lima; Raymond H. Ware, R. R. Jackson Center; Frank G. Ware, Cincinnati and Mrs. Burton Miars, Rt. 5, Sidney. One son, Dr. Roy M. Ware died June 9, 1958. Ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive. Two brothers and three sisters are deceased.

Mr. Ware was a member of the Jackson Center Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at the Van Horn Funeral Home, Jackson Center, Saturday at 2 p.m.

Rev. W. Knoop will officiate. Burial will be in the Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.

Friends may call at the funeral home any time.”
