SUDLERSVILLE, Md. – Robert F. “Bert” Ware Jr., of Sudlersville, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, in Kent and Queen Anne’s Hospital, Chestertown. He was 50. Mr. Ware was born July 31, 1952, in Richmond, Va., son of Anna Austin Roberts Ware of Sudlersville and the late Robert Faulconer Ware Sr., who died Sept. 8, 1994. At the age of 4, he moved with his parents from a Ware family farm beside Ware’s Wharf near Tappahannock, Va., to a Roberts family farm near Sudlersville. Mr. Ware was a 1971 graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School and attended Chowan College in Murfreesboro, N.C. Mr. Ware enjoyed keeping up with all sports news, parks and recreation-sponsored trips and researching genealogy. After returning to Sudlersville, he worked on the farm with his father until his father’s retirement. Mr. Ware was a longtime member of the Sudlersville Lions Club, where he served as president in 1987-88. He enjoyed being a greeter, Lion Tamer and Tail Twister and had just attended the club’s 40th anniversary celebration on Feb. 1. He attended St. Andrew’s Chapel in Sudlersville. In addition to his mother he is survived by a sister, Arraminta Ware of Sudlersville; an uncle, Wilson Cary Ware, of Richmond; and an aunt, Martha G. Walmsley, of Chestertown. Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2003, in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Church Hill. Burial will be private.
