PORTLAND (AP) — Portland police have identified the city’s 20th homicide victim of 2003. Cameron Brandice Ware, 22, was shot late Sunday as he was standing outside his car in the driveway of his mother’s house. Several neighbors said they heard five to eight shots. Two neighbors on the street ran to the home as Ware’s mother screamed for help. “His mother was outside panicking and trying to call 9-1-1,” one man told The Oregonian. “Cam was trying to fight for his life. He didn’t say anything.” Ware was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center. An autopsy Monday found Ware died of gunshot wounds, but neither police nor the medical examiner’s office would say where Ware was shot. On the same day Ware was shot, another man was killed just seven blocks away in the northeast section of the city. Emanuel Christopher Mosley, 28, was found in a car in front of his mother’s house. He died from a gunshot wound soon after paramedics lifted him into an ambulance, said Officer Henry Groepper, a Portland Police Bureau spokesman. No arrests have been made.
