David J. Ware, a career insurance agent with Penn Mutual, died Sunday at Community-General Hospital after a short illness. He was 57 and lived at 1229 Richard Road, Skaneateles. Mr. Ware was a native of Minneapolis, Minn. and lived in the Syracuse area most of his life. He lived in Skaneateles the past three years and before that was a resident of Camillus 24 years. Mr. Ware was with Penn Mutual Life 33 years. He was also an insurance broker with the Calvin A. Webb Agency. Mr. Ware was a communicant of Holy Family Church and was an officer and member of its Holy Name Society. He was an active supporter and participant in sports. Mr. Ware was a charter member of the West Genesee Boosters Club and a member of the Matman’s Club of Syracuse University. He coached Little League baseball and Pop Warner football for years. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Kates Ware; three sons, Bernard K. and David E., both of Littleton, Colo. and Christian A. Ware of Tallahassee, Fla.; three daughters, Elizabeth M. Kenneally of Camillus, Margaret Tracey Ware of New York City, and Patricia Ann Ware of Camillus; four grandchildren, Sean, Andrew and Kathryn Kenneally and Matthew Ware. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at John C. Tindall Funeral Home and 11:15 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 1921 W. Genesee St. Contributions may be made to Skaneateles Area Volunteer Emergency Services or the Ronald MacDonald House.
