PORT BYRON – Ethel M. Ware, 81, of Blauvelt Drive, Port Byron, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Auburn Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Ware was born in Auburn, the daughter of Wesley and Lena Leiger. She was a lifelong resident of the area. She was employed as a medical secretary for Dr. Willard J. Blauvelt. She also worked at Auburn Spark Plug during WWII, Welch Allyn, and assisted her husband with Ware Construction Company. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Port Byron Fire Department Auxiliary. She was a member of the Finley M. King chapter 107 of the Port Byron Eastern Stars where she was matron. She also held the office of Cayuga-Tompkins District Deputy Grand Matron. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert A. Ware; three sons, Robert S. Ware and his wife, Lucy, John Ware and his wife, Connie and Dennis Ware and his wife, Shere, all of Port Byron; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private. Contributions may be sent to Port Byron Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 367, Port Byron, NY 13140 or the First United Methodist Church memorial fund, South Street, Port Byron, NY 13140. Audioun Funeral Home, 218 Main St., Port Byron, has charge of arrangements.
