Margaret Schultz Ware Obituary, 2006

Margaret S. Ware died at her home in Westport Tuesday, Jan. 17. A Westport resident for more than 50 years, active in local charities, she was 95 and had been bedridden with Parkinson’s disease for several years. Born Margaret Schultz in Morsemere, N.J., Jan. 9, 1911, she was a graduate of the Parsons Institute of Design and was a prominent fashion industry designer for many years, known as Peggy Hatch. She was also a highly regarded Connecticut painter, having studied Arlene Skutch of Westport, and was a member of the National Watercolor Society. Her work was widely displayed from Longshore to the Wadsworth Athenaeum in Hartford. Predeceased by her husband, Jack, last summer, she is survived by her stepdaughter, Ellen, of Westport, her stepson, John, of New York, and two step-grandchildren.
