Mayor Don Ware, 45, of Greers Ferry died August 22 of an apparant heart attack. According to reports, he woke that morning and complained to his wife that he had heartburn and returned to bed. When his wife checked on him, he was reportedly blue and having difficulty breaking. Donald Allen Ware the son of Doc Ware and Willie Dean Burton Ware was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas on August 4, 1967 and passed away at Baptist Health in Heber Springs on August 22, 2012 at the age of 45 years. Don was the Mayor of Greers Ferry, Arkansas. He was a member of the Greers Ferry Fire Department, a member of Lone Star Baptist Church, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a politician. Don worked as a heavy equipment operator and had been a resident of Cleburne County all his life. He was preceded in death by his father Doc Ware. He is survived by his wife Kitty Sue Ware, his mother Willie Dean Ware, three daughters Nicole Lee Ellis, Shannon Marie Dew and Heather Michelle Ware, four sons Allan Ray Ware, Billy O’Neal, Greg Hodges and Jeff Hodges, a brother Charlie Ware, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and his dog Buddy, besides other relatives and many friends. Visitation services were held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Shiloh Crossroads Community Chapel and funeral services were at the Shiloh Crossroads Community Chapel on Friday, August 24, officiated by Rev. Darvin Carlton. Interment wsa in Brewer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Christopher Shane Ware, Allen Ray Ware, Nicholas Ray Ware, Shawn Lee Ware, Jacob Charles Ware and Teagus Majors. Honorary Pallbearers werel Mack Litaker, Edward Litaker, Cecil Burton, Ony Ware, Mike Elrod and David Davis.
