Jess L. Ware Obituary, 2014

Jess “Skeeter” L. Ware, age 88 of Riverton, IA passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 7, 1926 in Anderson, IA; the son of Jess Hall and Sylvia Inez (Bennett) Ware. He joined the United States Army on Oct. 19, 1944 and honorably served his country during WWII. He was discharged on July 25, 1946. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Irene Gray on March 9, 1945 in Seneca, KS and to this union two girls were born: Diana and Linda. Jess was a life-long farmer and continued working until shorty before his death. He was a member of the Sidney, IA American Legion Post. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Evelyn Ware of Riverton, IA; daughters Diana Sorensen of Sac City, IA and Linda Sue Jordan and husband Dennis of Big Lake, MO; three grandchildren: Becky Nenneman, Bryan Jordan and Jennifer Van’t Hul; seven great-grandchildren; a brother Gary Ware and wife Sandra of Bartlett, IA; brother-inlaw Richard Niday of Grand Junction, CO; other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Edgar and two sisters Lorna Jean Cooper and Margaret Niday. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Rash-GuDEFuneral Home in Hamburg, IA. Burial will follow the services at the Riverton Cemetery in Riverton, IA with complete military services conducted by the Sidney American Legion Post. The family will greet friends prior to the service on Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Rash-GuDEFuneral Home in Hamburg, IA A memorial fund is being established in his memory.
