Margaret Ware Tillett, 80, of Stanford, died Thursday, June 11 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. A native of Lincoln County, she was born July 1, 1928, to the late Roy and Carrie Wade Ware. She was a homemaker and a member of Stanford Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Bruce and Troy Harness. Survivors include her husband, Lucien Ray Tillett; a son, Roger Ray (Billie Jean) Tillett of Lancaster; a daughter, Donna Dean Singleton of Danville; a sister, Mabel Cornett of Corbin; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were June 15 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford with Revs. Ernest Martin and Michael Cox officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Tim and Tommy Tillett, Will Singleton, Clay Crouch, Scott Carrier and John Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Mack Peace, Bob Coulter, Herbert C. Tillett, Leroy Tillett, Jr., and Jerry Hamilton.
