Forrest E. Ware, 84, Greeley, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Services will be at a later date.
He was born Thursday, Feb. 19, 1925, at Rosendale, Mo., to Charles and Edna Ware.
He moved from Kansas City to Greeley in 1972.
He graduated from high school in Kansas City, Mo, in 1942.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman First Class from June 1943 to January 1946, earning several commendations and medals including World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal with one star and Point System Discharge.
He was a member of Lodge No. 305, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of North Kansas City, Mo.; Miami Post No. 156, American Legion of Paola; and Kansas City Power & Light Union.
He worked as a mechanic for Kansas City Power & Light Co. for more than 30 years. He retired in 1987.
He married Alma Lea Worth Feb. 19, 1944. They shared 65 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on Saturday, March 21, 2009.
Survivors include a daughter, Trenice L. Johnson, and her husband, Rick, Greeley; a son, Ron Ware, and his wife, Pam, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Charles Ware, Tonganoxie; a sister, Ruth Reuhl, Indiana; grandchildren, Scott Johnson, Wichita, Shannon Emert, Lane, David Johnson, Greeley, Kory Ware, Kansas City, Mo., Steve Ware, Hawaii, and Jennifer Ware; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Ware; a sister, Berniece Linden; and brothers, Howard Ware and Jerry Ware.
He has been cremated.
