REILLY — Esther Elizabeth Ware, 87, died on September 3, 1995. She was born July 24, 1908 in the State of Sonora in Mexico. Mrs Reilly obtained her teachers degree from Northern Arizona State Teachers College in Flagstaff and there after taught at the public school in Yuma. She married William Reilly on August 28, 1931. The couple moved to San Diego joining St. Pauls Episcopal Church in 1946. Mrs. Reilly was active in leadership positions of the Episcopal Churchwomen, first of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, and then the Diocese of San Diego. She served several terms as a member of the Vestry and then the Chapter of St. Paul’s Cathedral. For many years she chaired the Diocesan Refugee Commission and helped to resettle refugees from South East Asia during and after the Vietnam War. Her last place of residence was St. Paul Villa. Mrs. Reilly’s request was that in lieu of flowers the Memorial donations be made to the Parish Memorial Fund of St. Paul’s Cathedral. A Requiem Eucharist will be Celebrated on Monday September 11 at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral. Committal will take place at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
