She was born April 3, 1929, in Richeyville, PA, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Kozis) Romahakis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gaylord Ware, and two brothers, Alex and Paul Romanus.
Alice was a member of Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church and Senior Citizen Center, Aliquippa. She retired from Lawsons in 1985.
Surviving Alice is her loving son and daughter, Keith (Kim) Ware and Diane (Joe) Frioni; grandchildren, Amy and Aleica Ware, Joe (Sarah) Frioni, Shawn and Kasie Frioni; two great-grandchildren, Landen Eli Ware and Joseph Frioni; her brothers, Mike and Nick Romanus; five sisters, Helen Romanus, Angie Sterdis, Eva Dreucci, Dora Dreucci and Tina Greene, and a beloved sister-in-law, Kitty Romanus.
Alice loved her family with all her heart. She loved to do crossword puzzles, and always knew how to keep a beautiful flower garden. She loved watching the Steelers and Pirates. Alice was an avid baker and loved to make pies and Greek cookies.
Friends will be received today from 4 to 8 p.m. in the ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME, 21st and McMinn Streets, Aliquippa.
Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. at Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Church until time of service at 12 noon with Reverend Father Christopher Bender officiating.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in memory of Alice, to the Greek Orthodox Church.
The Ware family extends a special thank you to Iris for all the love and care that she gave Alice. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Trisagion (Blessing Service) will be at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home today.
