She was born in Fitchburg, MA on August 23, 1938, the daughter of the late Nicholas Mina and Philomena (DeSilvio) Mina. She graduated from Lunenburg High School in 1957.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, David Ware of Key Colony Beach, FL; two sons, David Ware Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, and Michael Ware and his wife, Nancy of Lunenburg, MA; one daughter, Michele Reichard and her husband, Rick of Woodbridge, VA. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Zachary, Matthew, Kasey, Brendan, and Caitlin. She is also survived by her sister, Margherite and husband, Bob Okerman; and her brother, Pete and wife, Carol Mina, all of FL; and many other relatives and cherished friends.
Mrs. Ware, a resident of Lunenburg for nearly 50 years, was actively involved in the community. She served as the high school girls basketball coach for 14 years, worked as a substitute teacher, was a member of the Fire Department Women’s Muster Team and supported many youth programs, including ice hockey, Pop Warner, Little League and high school athletic booster clubs.
Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Key Colony Beach, FL where she worked at a private beach club for more than 20 years, enjoyed the ocean and was surrounded by many close friends. She spent her summers in Westport, NY on the shore of Lake Champlain where she enjoyed the company of her family.
Celebrations of her life will tentatively be held this winter in FL and in late June in MA and NY.
