Joan ShoffnerJACKSON CENTER – Linda L. Ware, 69, of Jackson Center, passed away Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Shelby County on Aug. 3, 1940 a daughter of the late Howard M. and Edna L. Wildermuth Lawhead. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey.
On July 12, 1957 in Williamsburg, Ky., she married Jerry C. Ware and he survives along with daughters, Jody (Mitch) Keith and Lori (Kreg) Huffer, both of Jackson Center; grandchildren, Chelsea, Brooke, Makaine and Dillon Huffer and Blake and Courtney Zimpfer and a special family friend, Lisa Clayton.
She was a secretary for Jackson Center High School from 1967 to 1977 and along with her husband was owner and operator of Ware Insurance Agency in Jackson Center for 30 years. She was also a Mary Kay Consultant for many years.
Linda was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra where she was Sunday School Superintendent and was church organist for 43 years. She was also a member of Women of the Moose Lodge of Lakeview and directed musicals for the Jackson Center Community. She had a great love for music, loved sporting events that her grandchildren were involved in and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and traveling with her dear friends Dave and Kay Detrick. She was a charter member of the Jackson Center Education Foundation.
Pastor William Barrett will conduct the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. Burial will take place at Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home, Jackson Center and Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church or the Jackson Center Education Foundation.
