Kenneth R. Ware Obituary, 1999

MOUND VALLEY – Kenneth R. Ware, 80, of rural Mound Valley, died at 11:29 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 1999, at the Labette County Medical Centera after a farm tractor accident.

Mr. Ware was born March 15, 1919, to Joseph Ralph an Bertha R. (Westervelt) Ware of rural Altamont.

He married Marvelle Jones May 2, 1941. He was a farmer all his life in the Altamont area.

He was a member of the Altamont Holiness Church, a member and past president of Farm Bureau and a former member of the Co-op Board of Mound Valley. He served on the church board for 49 years and served many years on the foreign mission and general church board. He enjoyed making candy.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Marilyn Frazier of Altamont; a brother, Raymond Ware of Summerfield, Fla.; a sister, Lucille Jones of Altamont; three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Duane Allen Ware on June 13, 1955, and a sister, Edith Knipmeyer.

The service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday at the Altamont Holiness Church with the Rev. Duane Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Valley Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Bath Funeral Home in Altamont.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bible Holiness Foreign Missions Board and may be left at the funeral home.
