“AMERICAN CHESS ASSOCIATION
During the sessions of the Congress held at Cleveland, an American Chess Association was formed for the purpose of holding yearly meetings and tournaments throughout the country and the following gentlemen were elected as officers, who soon thereafter, dispersed to their respectable homes, and probably forgot amid the complications of their business duties, the important trust which has been confided to their keeping, for no subsequent action seems to have been taken to secure a second Convention of the Association.
