"USERY Funeral services for Mr. William Russell Usery,
66, of Barnesville, were held Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at
11 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Burial
will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Usery died
Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004. Williams Funeral Home of
Barnesville was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Usery
was born in Lamar County, Ga. on Nov. 14, 1937, to the
late Basil Haywood Usery and the late Grace Ware Usery.
He graduated from Gordon Military College and attended
the University of Georgia where he was a member of
Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was employed by Atlanta
Gas Light Company for 34 years and upon retirement
became a licensed auctioneer. Mr. Usery was in the
National Guard for 26 years, was Master Mason, a
Shriner, a Master Gardener and a member of First United
Methodist Church of Barnesville. Survivors include his
wife of 42 years, Sandra Daniel Usery; son Chad Russell
Usery of Fortson; daughter, Stacey Usery Tenney of
Barnesville; brother, George Usery of Griffin; sister,
Laura Sue Flemming of Barnesville; and five
grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be made to: First United Methodist Church, 375
Thomaston Street, Barnesville, GA 30204, or to your
favorite charity in memory of Mr. Usery."
