“Robert E. Ware passed away June 15, 2008 at his home. He was born Oct. 2, 1926 in Ann Arbor, the son of Thornton E. Ware and Evelyn L. Besch Ware.
After moving to Dexter in September 1939, Mr. Ware started school and helped on the farm until graduating from Dexter High School in June 1944. He served honorably in the United States Army Air Corps in 1944 and 1945, attended Michigan State College and graduated in June 1950 with a degree in Forestry.
Mr. Ware was married to Hannelore A. Hochlenert of Edingen, Germany on Feb. 25, 1955 at the Bethlehem Evangelical Church in Ann Arbor by the Rev. Walter Press. His wife preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2001.
He was employed in Oregon, Idaho, Ohio, and the Washtenaw County area for 42 years. His hobbies were flying, gardening, farming, reforestation, classic and antique aircraft, and American Civil War history.
He is survived by a niece, Katherine J. Ware R.N. of Muncie, Ind.; Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Remains will be interred at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements by Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Dexter.”
