Mary L. Haynes Ware Obituary, 2001

“Evangelist Mary L. Ware, 70, Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, February 20, 2001, at Shands at AGH, Gainesville following a brief illness.

She was a native of Madison and resided in Palatka for over 40 years. She was a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church and served as a Ministerial Assistant, Church Evangelist, and Board Member. Her beloved mother, Elder Lizzie Haynes preceded her in eternal rest on September 21, 2000. She traveled throughout the nation sharing the gospel message and will be missed by her precious family and friends.

To cherish her memories are her sons and daughters, Mildred Bradshaw, Miami; Charlie (Velvetina) Ware, Cape Charles, Va., Ethel Ware, Emmanuel Ware, Albertha (Melvin) Walker, all of Palatka; Vanessa (Carl) Collier, Macon, Ga.; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sister, Grace (Frank) Durden, Palatka; spiritual sister, Marion McIntosh, Florahome; devoted friend, Emma Pearl Moore, Palatka; host of other relatives and caring friends.

Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, February 24th noon at the United Pentecostal Church, 1105 South Highway 19, Palatka with the Rev. Kevin D. Battorff, Pastor, Officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, San Mateo. Visitation of family and friends will be Friday 5-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m. at the “Chapel of Serenity.” The cortege will assemble at the Ware residence on Saturday at 11:15 a.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Flagg-Serenity Memorial Chapel.”
