W. C. WARE WAS RESIDENT
HERE SINCE 1889

W. C. Ware, 75, resident of this community since 1889, passed away in DeLay hospital, Sulphur, last Thursday, after a brief illness.

Services were held at First Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Rev. J. M. House officiating. Interment was in Green Hill cemetery with Bahner funeral home in charge.

Serving as pallbearers were Fred Ayers, Claude Willis, Raymond Tigert, Ed Pruitt, A. L. Hooker and Dick Hunt. Honorary: A. G. Dunn, Joe Martin, O. C. Francis, W. R. Tucker and Price Hunt.

Welcome C. Ware was born in Athens, Texas, June 9, 1880. Leaving Texas at the age of nine years, he moved to Indian Territory, to what is now Davis, and continued to live here the remainder of his life. He was employed in state highway work for 25 years, retiring in January, last year. Prior to that time he engaged in farming. On April 8, 1903, in Davis, he married Miss Minerva Ellis from which union five children were born, one son dying in infancy.

Survivors include his wife, Minerva, of the home; two sons, P. C. Ware, Wichita, Kan., and O. M. Ware, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Harry B. Drennan, Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Floyd Young, Wynnewood, Okla.; a brother, P. E. Ware, Davis, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. H. W. Fielding, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. J. E. Patterson, Lindsay, Okla.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Ware was a member of the Baptist church and Woodmen of the World. He will be greatly missed by his legion of friends.
