“The State Board of Contract and Supply with State Architect Franklin C. Ware (misprint) as consulting architect, has selected the preliminary design for the new high school building submitted by Goldwin, Starrett and Van Vleck with Orrin Winthrop Rice associated, of the Everett building, Union Square, New York City. According to the preliminary plans and drawings, the building will be of fireproof construction with three stories and a basement and will have a capacity of 1600 pupils. The exterior will be of red tapestry brick in harmony with the new normal school building. Upon completion of the new high school building it is probable that the old building now in use will be remodeled and made into a vocational and commercial high school.”
