Ted A. Ware, 61, Colona, Ill., passed away Jan. 4, 2011, at his residence. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Colona. Cremation rites will follow the service. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Ave., Moline, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his family. Ted was born March 11, 1949, in Silvis, Ill., the son of William and June Thompson Ware. He was raised by his stepparents, Charles and Edith Crider. He married Betty Retterath, from Stanton, on June 27, 1970, in East Moline. Ted graduated from United Township High School in 1967. He furthered his education at Bismarck Junior College in Bismarck and Valley City State College in Valley City, on a basketball scholarship. Ted was employed as a scheduler at Case IH, retiring on May 1, 2002, after 30 years. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Colona. He was also a diehard St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He loved spending time with his grandkids. Survivors include his wife, Betty; his son, Chad (Carrie) Ware and their children, Ethan, Ava and Emma, Moline; his daughter, Tricia (Curt) Seei and their children, Brady and Brock, Geneseo, Ill.; his brother, Thomas (Sally) Ware, Silvis, Ill.; his sister, Sandra Rusk, Geneseo, Ill.; and a special dog, Millie.
