Thornton Ware, 92, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at Crestview Health Care in Shelbyville. He was a member of Beechridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Willena Roberts Ware; 2nd wife, Lorene Estes Ware; and sons, Butch Ware, William Ware; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughters, June Gilbert (Paul), Shelbyville; Donetta Garland (Jerold), Romulus, MI; Lois Ware, Shelbyville; son, Ricky Ware (Faye), Lawrenceburg; 2 stepsons, Tommy Bickers (Sharon), Anderson County, KY; Robert Bickers, Owen Co., KY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Conaster (Chester), Monterey, TN; brother, J.C. Ware, Louisville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 at the Shannon Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Baxter officiating. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bagdad Cemetery.
