
Kimberly Ware lost her courageous fight against melanoma skin cancer and passed away surrounded by her family on July 22, 2009, in Olympia, WA. Kim was born in Seattle, WA on January 25, 1957, to Homer Wade and Lois (Gullefer) Wade. As a Navy brat, Kim lived in Adak, Alaska, Cyprus, Honolulu, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and West Seattle. She graduated from Evergreen High School in 1975, and then attended Washington State University, where she was an AOPi, became a loyal Coug. fan, and graduated in 1979. She also received a Masters Degree in Education from Gonzaga University in 1991. Kim married in 1979, and had three sons. She was a loving and devoted mother who adored watching her boys play sports. She always celebrated life’s blessings and made special occasions super. She was an avid crafter who made a mean peanut butter rice crispy treat, spoiled her pets, played board games after dinner, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Kim had a passion for teaching, and throughout her twenty-four year career she inspired students at Ephrata Elementary School, Ephrata Middle School, Columbia Ridge School, Madison Elementary, Pioneer Elementary, McKenney Elementary and Jefferson Middle School. She also helped fellow teachers and students while working part-time at the School Daze educational store. She was very proud of the growth of her students beyond her classroom and kept in touch with many of them as they continued through school. In addition to many friends and former students, Kim is survived by her mother Lois Wade; her sons Brandon, Kris and Craig; her sister Cathy Batten and brother-in- law Hugh; her brother Chuck Wade and sister-in-law Renee; and her nieces and nephews. Kim was preceded in death by her father Homer Wade. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel in Olympia on Saturday August 8, 2009 at 10:00am.(360.352.4214) Remembrances may be made to the Providence South Sound Hospice. Kim’s faith carried her through to the end and she is now with God.
