She was born Feb. 14, 1910, to the union of William and Mary Kent. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. She moved to Leland in 1932, and joined Pleasant Spring MB Church under the leadership of the late Rev. R.L. Washington. She later moved her membership to Beulah Grove Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the choir for many years and as president of the Ushers Board until her death. She was also secretary of the Ushers Union Floral Club.

She was preceded in death by her siblings; her son, Johnnie Q. Lewis; and her husband, Mose Ware.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Jacquelyn C. Moore of Leland; three grandchildren, Willie Jason Moore III and Joshua Caldwell Moore, both of Leland, and Beatrice (Lamar) King of Greenville; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Dillon Funeral Home, Leland. The body will lie in state at the church Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
