MSG Ivan F. Ware Obituary, 1997

75, of Springfield died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Hospital.

He was born in Greenup on March 16, 1912, the son of Herschel Francis and Julia Forbes Ware. A resident of Springfield most of his life, he married Myrtle Painter in 1901, and she died in 1974. Also preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers, James, Ralph and Noah Ware.

Mr. Ware was a veteran of World War II and was a former employee of Central Iron and Metal Company.

Surviving are eight daughters, Shirley Swain of Auburn, Frances Brinkley of Springfield, Barbara Parton of Blue Mound, Vickie Brown and Nancy, both of Zephyrhills, Fla., Betty Cook of Taylorville, Catherine Fisher of Kincaid and Ruth Mattingly of Texas; five sons, Ivan Ware Jr. of Sparta, Tenn., George Ware, Herschel Ware and Edward Ware, all of Springfield, and Mike Ware of Zephyrhills, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Graham and Evelyn, both of Dade City, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev.

Lawrence Hamrick officiating. Burial in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
