He was born December 5, 1956, in Washington, a son of William “Bucky” and Rachel Fortney Ware of Washington.
He was a 1974 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and a 1978 graduate of Washington & Jefferson College. For 23 years, he was co-founder and president of Washington Greene Alternative Residential Services. He was a certified public accountant and owner of Clark and Co., founder of Chances Inc., a local nonprofit organization that services individuals with developmental challenges, and formerly was a Washington city controller.
Mr. Ware was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast, loved playing blackjack in Las Vegas, and loved to go to the beach in St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was a member of Washington Jaycees, American and Pennsylvania Institute of Public Accountants and Sons of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
Mr. Ware was a 2008 honoree of the Greater Washington County Food Bank.
His wife, Janine Skariot of Washington, survives.
Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are a brother, Paul (Terri) Ware of Washington; a niece, Megan (Zach) Hahr of Tallahassee, Fla.; and numerous cousins.
At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation. Services and burial will be private.
