CLEVELAND – George Lester Ware, 83, of Clinton, formerly of Cleveland, retired inspector for the Motor Vehicle Comptroller’s office for the State of Mississippi, former investigator for the Mississippi State Welfare Department, and retired Army captain, died Sunday at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at North Cleveland Cemetery. Thweatt-King Funeral Home has charge. He was a World War II veteran, a Royal Arch Mason, past commander for Post 165 of the American Legion, president of the Cleveland Saddle Club and was a member of the Tenn-Miss Sheriff and Peace Officers Association and the 40 and 8 club. He leaves a daughter, Lynn Moore of Buchanan, Tenn.; a son, George ‘Buddy’ Ware Jr. of Cleveland; two grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
