Deborah Louise Ware Byrd, age 65, of 272 Meadowview Lane, Timberlake, NC died Friday afternoon, January 12, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Byrd was born October 14, 1952 in Durham County, NC daughter of the late Paul & Ludie Louise Pridgen Ware. She worked in the food industry at Aramark, enjoyed playing cards with her family, and attended Longhurst United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Tammy L. Jordan & significant other, Ron Gist of Timberlake, NC, four sisters, Patricia Parker & husband, Rudy, Paulette Jenkins & husband, Buddy all of Durham, NC, Mary Jenkins & husband, John of Timberlake, NC, JoAnn Miller & husband, James of Greensboro, NC, brother, Paul D. Ware & wife, Elizabeth of Durham, NC, granddaughter, Jennifer Dickerson, great granddaughter, Allyssa C. Holt, and dog, Lil Man. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Byrd is preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Ware. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel. Interment will be Thursday, January 18, 2018 in the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Durham, NC. The family will receive friends and guests Monday, January 15, 2018 from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home. Ormond Howell Ware III D.S.D, Obituary, 2018

Ormond, also known as Juny, was born in Dunnellon, Florida to Ormond H. Ware, Jr. and Brunelle Rush Ware.
He leaves behind his wife Sally Singleton Ware of 54 years, his son Trenton H. Ware, his daughter and Son-in-law Tiffany and Ron Cannon and grandchildren, Trace and Anna Lee Cannon, sisters Susan Ware and Linda W. Outten, sisters and brothers-in-law Jackie and Murray Bennett, Sula and Tim Kohn and Rhonda and Donald Lestinsky and many nieces and nephews.
He attended schools in Dunnellon, St. Petersburg and Avon Park where he graduated from High School in 1955, and then went on to the University of Florida .
While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he studied Russian in Army Language School and was assigned duty in Japan for three years where he was an Airborne Voice Intercept Processing Specialist.
After leaving the Air Force, he attended Florida Presbyterian College before he transferred to the University of Alabama where he received a B.S. degree in Chemistry and Russian and a D.M.D. degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Dentistry in 1970.
Ormond practiced general restorative dentistry in St. Petersburg, FL. and later limited his practice to TMJ. He was also a volunteer instructor at the U of F College of Dentistry.
He and Sally have lived in Dunnellon for 31 years.
A Memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Dunnellon, Fl. at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, with Pastor Russ Randall officiating.

George Davis Ware Obituary, 2018

George Davis Ware, 92, of Ashlan Village, Lyman, husband of Martha Elwell Ware, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum. He was born in Abbeville County to the late Clyde Davis Ware and Carrie Blanchett Ware.

Mr. Ware served his country in the United States Army during WWII, graduated from Clemson University, and worked as a mechanical engineer for NASA in Langley, VA.  He was a member of Cannons Campground Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ware was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil “Pete” Ware and Marshall Ware.

He is survived by Martha, his wife of 67 years, his daughter, Joy Malone (Wylie) of Wellford; his son, Rex Ware (Tillie) of Tallahassee, FL; and a brother, William Ware, of Abbeville. He was immensely proud of his seven grandchildren, Amy Perry, Nathan Malone, Justin Malone, Mark Malone, Davis Ware, Patrick Ware, and Alex Ware, as well as his six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30PM to 2:30PM on Saturday, January 20, 2018, in the fellowship hall of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church in Abbeville. Funeral services will follow in the sanctuary at 2:30PM with the Rev. Dr. Frank McCoy officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

ABINGTON – Helen Marie (Hickey) Ware, 95, a life long Abington resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday January 10, 2018, She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Quinn Ware Sr., and her beloved son, John Quinn “Rusty” Ware Jr. Helen was survived by her children, Mary Ann Goldie of Halifax, Jeanne Palsic of Abington, and Kevin Ware of Hanson.

One of Helen’s greatest joys was being in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with friends.

She proudly served lunch to Abington High School students for many years. Helen was a life time devoted member of St. Bridget’s Church in Abington.

A private service was held on January 17, 2018.

Peiler Cemetery of Starkville. Visitation will today from 1-6 p.m. at West Memorial Chapel of Starkville. She is survived by her sons, Larry Ware, Calvin Ware, and Bruce Ware; daughters Anna Ware-Jordan, Katie M. Harris, Betty Spann, Vivian Ware and Renea Ware; brother, Charlie H. Bedford, all of Starkville.

Edward Ware, III, also known as Eddie Boy and Party Ball, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the age of 72. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 24, 1945 in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Jefferson Parish. He graduated in 1964 from Francis T. Nicholls High School in New Orleans, LA. Eddie served his country in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Adak, Alaska and on the U.S.S. Oriskany CVA34 in San Francisco, CA and received an honorable discharge in 1968. He was a terrific husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by the love of his life Ann Reichert Ware, his wife of 51 years. His loving sons, Edward R. Ware and Steven M. Ware. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Amber, Brittany, Jonah, Madison, Catherine and Jillian Ware and by great grandson Chandler Lane. He leaves behind his two sisters, Margery Ware Dolese and Edwyna Ware Head (Harry) and many loving family and friends. He will be missed but never forgotten. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Ware, Jr. and Margery Walsdorf Ware, and his brother Carlton J. Ware. He retired in 2009 from Ware Brothers Construction, an underground utilities company. He enjoyed working for Coastal Delivery Services, LLC. as a hot shot driver. Clarence E. Ware Obituary, 2018

Clarence E. “Billy”Ware of Homewood, at 88 years old transitioned to eternal life with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on January 25, 2018. A devoted husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather, he loved his family sacrificially, served his church wholeheartedly, and brought laughter and joy to every relationship. Billy was born on August 31, 1929 in Detroit, MI, but was raised in Minooka, AL near Calera. A gifted athlete, he played basketball and baseball at Calera High School and was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at Birmingham Southern College where he played basketball. After serving in the Air Force, he worked as V.P. of T.M Burgin Demolition Co., and continued to use his gifts of leadership and service through Alabama Ministries and Meals on Wheels. As a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood, he taught the Friendship Sunday School class, served in multiple leadership roles, and implemented Cross Training, an after school program for middle schoolers. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Martha Ann Galloway Ware, of Birmingham, AL and his 3 children: William Galloway Ware (Kathy Bryant Ware), Helen Annette Ware Burgin (William Merritt Burgin III), and Virginia Elizabeth Ware Walker (Douglas C.Walker III), along with 10 grandchildren: Helen (Cory) Nabors, Mary Beth (James) Piedra, Lucy (Mike) Aitcheson, Chip (Ashley) Walker, Lynne (Pedro) Camargo, Margaret (Eric) Vinsant, Elizabeth (Matthew) Courtner, Katherine (Patrick) Farmer, Merritt Burgin IV, Marshall (Raina) Burgin and 14 great-grandchildren. A service celebrating Billy’s life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, Saturday, January 27th, at 3 pm. The family will receive visitors from 1 -3 pm at the church preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Trinity United Methodist Church or Birmingham Southern College Billy Ware Scholarship Fund. Betty Sprouse Ware Obituary, 2018

ABBEVILLE — Betty Sprouse Ware, 89, widow of Robert Emory “Bobby” Ware, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 28, 2018, after a brief illness.

Born on February 7, 1928, in Abbeville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ira Ernest Sprouse and Ruby Butler Sprouse. She was predeceased by her brother, Jack Sprouse, and by her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Snyder. Betty was retired from Fovil Manufacturing Company as office manager.

An active member of Main Street United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class and the Susanna Wesley Circle, she was a member of the Chancel Choir for over 50 years, was a former nursery Sunday School teacher, and was on numerous church committees over the years.

A lifelong Abbevillian, she was an avid bridge player and was known for making loaves of bread which she shared with many. She was loved by everyone who knew her: neighbors, friends, letter carriers, co-workers, and the list goes on. Surviving are three daughters, Becky Bowie (Marion), Mary Beth Peck (Ray), and Lynn Blanton (Ben), all of Abbeville; a brother, Bill Sprouse (Janett) of Ware Shoals; seven grandchildren, Valerie Snyder (Mark) of Greenville, SC; Kelli Stoddard (Ben) of Hendersonville, NC; Laura Evans of Saluda, SC; Mandi Janezeck (Jason) of Virginia Beach, VA; Lesli Knabe (Duane) of Simpsonville, SC; Kimberly Stephens (Jay) of Greenville, SC; Casey Thomasson (Taylor) of Greenwood, SC; and twelve great-grandchildren: Tori, Nicole, Alli, Emily, Will, Braeden, Anna Claire, Lucy, Sophia, Jackson, Cannon, and Beau.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 at the home, 406 Magazine St., Abbeville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Main Street United Methodist Church with the Reverend Brian Arant officiating. A private burial will be held later at Long Cane Cemetery.
