Liane Ruth Germany Ware, age 58, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.

Services for Liane will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with visitation beginning at 3:00 prior to the service. Interment will be held at Forrest Memorial Park.

Liane was born February 6, 1960 to Betty Ann Stroud Germany and the late Grady Leon Germany in Shreveport, LA. Liane was the manager at Batesville Food Mart. She was a member of Rosehill Baptist Church.

Liane is survived by her domestic partner, Wesley Terry Tramel of Batesville; her son, Andy Nichols of Greenville; sister, Terry Germany of Greenville; brothers, Brian Germany of Brandon, and Grady Germany of Witchita, KS.; her mother, Betty Ann Germany of Brandon; grandmother, Velma Stroud of Brookhaven; granddaughter, Morgan Nichols of Greenville; 1 grandson, 1 niece, 2 nephews, 3 great nieces and 3 great nephews.

In addition to her father, Liane was preceded in death by her grandfathers, James D. Stroud and Watson Germany.

Norma Pierotti Ware Memphis, TN Norma Pierotti Ware, 93, passed away peacefully December 28, 2017. Communicant of St. Anne’s, Norma was preceded in death by her daughter, Jackie and her brother, Joe Pierotti. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy and her son, Andrew. Norma graduated from Sacred Heart High School and Sienna College and was retired from Helen of Memphis. Norma donated her body to Genesis. Visitation is at Immaculate Conception on Central on January 6 at 12:30 and Memorial Mass at 1:00. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s, Poor Clare Nuns or donor’s choice.

Pauline "Polly" Gregory Ware

Pauline “Polly” Gregory Ware, 94, of Athens, died on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Morning Pointe of Athens.

She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Luster and Ruby McPhail Gregory. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Sneed; her second husband, Charles Amos Ware; a son-in-law, Curt Mitchell; a granddaughter, Mia McKeehan; a sister, Eula Guy; and two brothers, W.L. “Winnie” and Raymond Gregory.

She was a longtime member of Tranquility United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Dianne Mitchell of Athens; one granddaughter and her husband, Lia and Billy Bayes; four great-grandchildren, Maranda Fox McCroskey and her spouse, SPC Donte, Elijah Fox and his fianc©e, Hanna Scott, LCPL Dakota Powell and Lucas Bayes; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Gregory of Athens.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, in the chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Mark Littleton and Tim Gunnells officiating. The committal service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at McMinn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Carey Hicks, Richard Newman, Elijah Fox, Lucas Bayes, Billy Bayes and Tony Carpenter.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in honor of Polly be made to the Tranquility United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 780 County Road 220, Athens, TN 37303.

Evelin Hagler Ware, 85, of Cleveland, passed away on May 25, 2017.

She was born in Crandall, Ga., but resided in Cleveland most of her life. She was the widow of Earl Pledger Ware of Cleveland.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ware; her father J.D. Hagler; and mother, Mary Elizabeth Mason Hagler.

She is survived by her son, Donnie Ware (Victoria); son, Dewayne Ware; daughter, Peggy Roderick (Michael); daughter, Sandra Farris (Mark); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. today at Companion Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2017, at the funeral home with the Rev. Waymond Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Beaty Cemetery with grandsons and cousins serving as pallbearers.

Charlotte Aileen Ware Obituary, 2018

Charlotte Aileen Ware, 96, of Kingston, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at her home.

She was a member of Kingston First Baptist Church. Charlotte retired from Roane State Community College where she worked as the assistant head of medical records technology. She was an avid gardener, loved playing golf and her many pets. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Raymond Ware; son, John Raymond Ware; sister, Martha Lee McPheeters; and brothers, Reece Womac and Jay L. Womac.

Survivors include daughters, Joyce Ellen Beaver, Ooltewah, and Janet Charlene Smith, Winston-Salem, N.C.; sons, James Lee Ware, Kingston, and Jerry Allen Ware, Chattanooga; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Obituary of Dr. Thomas Clayton Ware Sr.

Dr. Thomas Clayton Ware, 88, a 50-year resident of Lookout Mountain, died Friday morning at Hospice of Chattanooga.

He taught English at the University of Cincinnati for five years before coming to University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1967 where he taught primarily Irish and British Literature for 40 years, 20 of those as the head of the English Department.

He served four years in the U.S. Navy, two in Hawaii as an aerial photographer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lindsay and Josie Ware and five brothers, Don, Roger, Jerry, Dennis, and Steve Ware.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Judy; five children and their spouses; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. daughter, Susan Cofer, of Chattanooga; grandson, Michael Cofer, of Sarasota, Fla.; granddaughter, Catherine (Brian) Lowe (Claire and Audrey), of Sarasota, Fla.; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Chris) Miller (Jackson, Andrew, and Charlie), of Humboldt, SK, Canada.; daughter, Linda (Jack) Atchley, of Signal Mountain; son, Tom Ware, of Lookout Mountain, Tenn.; granddaughter, Lindsay Ware, Rachel Ware and grandson, Clay Ware, of Ringgold, Ga.; son, Matthew (Paula) Ware, of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Brooke Ware, of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Caroline Ware, of Chattanooga; son, Christopher (Celeste) Ware and Grandson Memphis Ware, of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Pat Robertson and Peggy (Bob) Schoenoff, of Louisville, Ky.; brother-in-law, Dave (Carolyn) Klosterman, great friends and world travel companions for 30 years, also from Louisville, Ky. Many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends in Chattanooga at a later date.

John Paul Ware Obituary, 2017

After a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, John Paul Ware, 84, drifted peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on April, 24th 2017. John was born February 26, 1933 and was a lifelong resident of Pinckney, Mi. He served in the US Army and was happy to tell stories of his days training soldiers to climb mountains in Colorado. During his career as a builder, he constructed and renovated many residential and commercial properties.

John was much loved by many! He is survived by his wife, Janet, his children, many grandchildren, and two sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 at St. Andrews United Church of Christ, 7610 Ann Arbor St., Dexter, MI. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the service. Following the service a lunch will be served.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
