James William Ware, 71, of North East passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from a massive stroke. He was born in Grafton, WV to Bill and Helen Ware.

Jim was a retired Cecil County Public School teacher, having taught in Charlestown, Thomson Estates, and North East Elementary Schools. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, traveling, and playing with his grandchildren, the pride and joy of his life.

He was an active member and long- time trustee of Shelemiah United Methodist Church in Bay View.

Survivors include his wife: Karen, with whom he just celebrated fifty years of marriage; a son: Shawn and wife Stacey; and his beloved grandchildren: Emmerson Logan, Kennason Taylor, and Harrison Scott all of Cochranville, PA; and a sister-in-law: Kay Ware of GA. He leaves two special nieces: Candy Dorn (David) and family and Clarissa Cook (Mark) and family of GA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Richard.

Visitation will be held at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 S. Main St., North East, MD on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 6 pm until 8 pm and again on Saturday, November 18 at 10 am. Funeral services will be held at 11 am.

Burial will follow in the Bay View Cemetery.

Wilbur Keith Ware Obituary, 2016

Wilbur “Bill” Keith Ware, 84, Confluence, Pa., died on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland.

He was born in Levisay, W.Va., on Dec. 29, 1931, a son of the late Edgar Burtram Ware and Violet Inez Wade Ware.

Wilbur spent several years in college earning several degrees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Wilbur worked for the American Stock Exchange and Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City. He then moved to West Virginia and worked for Lowndes Bank in Clarksburg, W.Va., and was last working for the Flowery Vale Senior Center in Accident.

He was the current president of the Lions Club in Confluence.

He is survived by two brothers, William E. Ware, Fairview, W.Va., and Edwin Ware, Weirton, W.Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Leslie Ware, Junior Ware, Eugenia Brock, Evelyn Knotts, Melba Ware, and Betty Simms.

Friends were received at Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton, where services were held on Monday Oct.

24, with Pastor Marshall Williams officiating.

Interment followed at the West Virginia National Cemetery. Military honors were accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central West Virginia DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.

Michael Lynn Ware Jr. Obituary, 2016

Michael Lynn “Chico” Ware Jr., 36, Elkins, W.Va., and for the past several years, Oakland, passed from this life on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, in Pittsburgh, Pa. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

Born on March 8, 1980, in Houston, Texas, he was the son of Michael Lynn Ware Sr., Beverly, W.Va., and Kathryn Lynn Higgins Basinger, Connellsvile, Pa. He is also survived by his stepparents, Judy Ware and Joey Lee Basinger.

He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Daisy.

He attended the schools of Randolph County, and had worked as a pipe fitter in Washington, D.C., as well as a printer for The Republican newspaper. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, spending time on the boat, and picking mushrooms.

Mike is survived by his three children, Natasha Anne Ware, Elkins, and Michaelia Lynn Ware and Mallikye Cole Ware, both of Davis, W.Va.; their mother, Naomi (Schadewald) Ware, Elkins; two sisters, Angel Marie Lansberry and husband Dennis and Brenda Olivene Edwards and husband Glenn, all of Philippi, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Randolph Funeral Home, Valley Bend, W.Va., where a service will be conducted on Friday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. A.H. Belt officiating. Interment will follow at Mingo Cemetery, Valley Head, W.Va.

Gerald Delano Ware Sr. Obituary 2017

Gerald “Jud” Delano Ware Sr., 83, of Bedford, departed from this earth to his eternal heavenly home with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017.

He passed away quietly in the arms of his loving wife at their home, following complications of pulmonary fibrosis. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017.

Born on Aug. 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Samuel and Margaret Ware. Jud was preceded in death by sisters, Eleanor Smith and Dora Shipley; brothers, Robert and Samuel Ware; and one grandson, Benjamin Vaughan.

He was a faithful member of Cumberland Bible Church for 47 years. His favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 40:31, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served two years in Japan as an instrument specialist. He retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company after working 36 years at the Cumberland and Creighton/Ford City plants. His favorite pastimes included fishing and hunting with his son and friends. But above all, he loved his family. His witty personality would bring a smile to all.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma (Stump) Ware; six children, Pam Resh and husband, Bill, Penny Vaughan and husband, Mike, Jerry Ware and wife, Denise, Jodi Engle and husband, Dave, Krista Spangler and husband, Gary, and Karla Collins and husband, Todd. Also surviving are his faithful brother and best friend, Gale Ware, and sisters, Thelma Larry, Eva Heinrich, and Patsy Stickel.

He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Shaun Resh, Erin Pendergast, Jason Vaughan, Nikki Strother, Katie Glenn, Chloe and Patrick Ware, D.J. Engle, Cassie and Cody Weese, Rachel Bauman, and Michael Collins.

Also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren, Zoe, Layla, Jackson, Jameson, Jacob, Caden, Ethan, Liam, Manny, Caleb, Sarina, Lydia, Sydney, Sam, Charlie, Ezekial Jud, and another coming in June.

Jud’s body is being donated to the Anatomy Board of Science in hopes to help find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at 6 p.m. at Cumberland Bible Church, 400 East 3rd St., Cumberland, MD 21502.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cumberland Bible Church.

WARE, VERONICA B. 96, of Wampanoag Trial, Riverside, died peacefully on December 20, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Ware. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Joseph and Justyna (Marculewicz) Galin, she lived in Riverside for 61 years. Mrs. Ware was a Librarian for the East Providence School Department for 25 years before retiring in 1985. Veronica was a communicant of St. Brendan Church and a member of the parish’s Forever Young Club. She enjoyed collecting antiques, crocheting and knitting. She is survived by two sons, Gregory P. Ware and his wife Jennifer of Seekonk, MA and Christopher L. Ware of Riverside; a daughter, Justine M. Hrynick of Benedicta, ME; a sister, Stasia Galin of Pawtucket and four grandchildren, Joseph Ware, Bridget Ware, Gabriel Hrynick and Toby Hrynick. Her funeral will be held on Thursday December 29, 2016 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 p.m.
