Betty Joan Durham Ware

Betty Joan Durham Ware, 73, of 184 Sunset Dr., Danville, Va., died on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Stratford Rehab Center, after a decline in health since 2017. She was born on January 13, 1946, in Pittsylvania County, Va., a daughter of the late Wesley Albert Durham and the late Vivian Odell Yeatts Durham. She lived all of her life in Danville where she worked as a pharmacy tech for 42 years for Kmart. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. On July 9, 1962, she married Lee Van Ware, who predeceased her on March 2, 2012. She is survived by a son, Johnny Lee Ware and wife, Myra Ware, of Callands, Va.; two granddaughters, Kelsey Fry and Madalyn Ware; a great-granddaughter, Caraline Fry; a sister, Judy Arnold; a brother, Al Durham; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, William “Bill” Durham and Louis Albert Durham. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Pastor Myron Bruce officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Stratford Rehab Center for the care given to Mrs. Ware. Charles R. “Bob” Ware, age 71, of New Bern, NC, entered into God’s glory on Sunday, June 16, 2019, and was able to spend Father’s Day with his beloved daughter Patti.

Born and raised in Virginia, Bob graduated from Woodbridge High School, in Woodbridge, VA, and attended the College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg, VA.

He proudly served our nation in the U.S. Army and in Vietnam and later found a career in Information Systems, retiring from Electronic Data Systems prior to settling in New Bern.

Bob is survived by Robin, his wife and soulmate of nearly 35 years; his son, Bryan; his sister Susan (Jerry) Kandies; his sister Debra (Don) Hatley; sisters-in-law Terri Rodabaugh and Linda (Phil) Mihlmester, as well as beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Patti Ware and his parents Willard and Margaret Ware.

A memorial service will take place Friday, June 21, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Garber United Methodist Church, 4201 Country Club Road, New Bern, NC. Officiated by Rev. David Banks. A reception will follow at The Emerald Golf Club, 5000 Clubhouse Drive, New Bern, NC.

Sharon Susan Ware

Sharon Sullivan Ware of Miami, Florida (formerly from Philippi, WV and Bartow , FL) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. She leaves behind a son, three step children (which she loved as her own), four grand children, one great grand child, two sisters, a brother, and extended family and friends. Sharon was raised in Bartow and attended Florida Southern College. She worked as a Flight Attendant with Eastern Airlines, then in the medical field in Miami, FL and Hollywood, CA. After moving to West Virginia, she worked in her husband’s (James H. Ware) law office. She then moved back to Miami to be near family. There will be no formal service. She was blessed in so many ways and she will be missed. If you would like to make a tribute gift in her memory, contact the Alzheimers Association.

David G. Ware Obituary, 2019

David G. Ware, 65, of Rineyville, formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hopkins County, formerly worked for El Paso County D.A.’s office and Matrix Logistics, and retired from the U.S. Air Force where he was a veteran of the Vietnam War and the first Desert Storm conflict. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a huge UK fan and a New Orleans Saints fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lula Russelburg Ware; four brothers, Billy, Joe, Jimmy and Tommy Ware; and two sisters, Kay Robards and Linda Sumpter.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra L. Ware; two daughters, Shannon R. Ware and Lyndsey M. Reinert (Jacob) of Rineyville; two grandchildren, Madyson and Collyn Reinert, the loves of his life; a brother, Danny Ware; three sisters, Wanda Bryan, Brenda Gunn and Carolyn Loughary; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at a later date at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.

Anna Mae Spenler Ware Obituary, 2019

Anna Mae Spenler Ware, of Burlington, Iowa died at 6:45 PM on April 16, 2019 at Autumn Leaves in Greenville, SC.

A visitation for Anna will be on Monday June 24th, 2019 at 9:30 AM, one hour prior to a funeral service at 10:30 AM at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home. In keeping with Anna’s wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at North Hill Cemetery next to her husband Charles Roger Spenler.

Charles Randall Ware Sr. Obituary, 2019

A private memorial service will be held for Charles Randall Ware, Sr., 84, was born on December 30, 1933 in Mexia, TX to the late Rubye Jewell (McDowell) and Wallace Ware, Sr. and died December 17, 2018 in Lufkin, TX.

Charles moved to Lufkin, TX in 1947. He played the tuba in the band at Lufkin High School and graduated in 1951. He met the love of his life and wife of almost 65 years, Shirley, while they attended LHS. Charles was in the Air Force Reserve for 15 years as well as a volunteer firefighter in Lufkin.

He worked at the paper mill in Lufkin retiring with more than 40 years of service. Charles loved making jams and jellies and frequently won numerous ribbons at the State Fair of Texas. He spent many years during his retirement working on his passion of genealogy. He was an avid follower of LHS sports and a member of First Baptist Church in Lufkin.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ware (Beckham), of Lufkin; son, Randy Ware, of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Sheryle and Tim Pettet of Santa Cruz, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Tjossem of Montrose, CO; granddaughter and husband, Heather Elledge and Andrew Wilson of Seattle, WA; grandson and wife, Metro and Jasmine Nothing of Portland, OR; grandson and wife, David and Jessica Ware of Evans, GA; grandson, Phoenix Pettet of Santa Cruz, CA; great-granddaughter, Annelise Wilson of Seattle, WA; brother and sister-in-law, Wallace “Peyton” Ware, Jr, and Nancy Ware of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Jack Beckham of Deerpark, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Ware, sister, Peggy Thomas (Ware) died 9 days after Charles.

Charles’ family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses and staff in the Arbor Unit at Pinecrest and Hospice in the Pines for making his final year as pleasant as possible. We sincerely appreciate your compassion.

Nora Ware Haseler Obituary, 2019

Jesup–Nora Ware Haseler, 69, of Jesup died June 30, 2019.

The New York native lived in Wayne County the past 30 years and was the widow of Paul Henry Haseler.

Survivors include her daughters, Tina (Charles) Chrysler and Jennifer Haseler of Jesup; grandchildren, Kellen, Jasmin and Myranda Hilton; and a special friend, Christine Schultz of Jesup.

Memorial services will be held by the family.
