IRENE TAYLOR WARE, 83, of Memphis, retired from Memphis City Schools, died of cancer Tuesday at Quality Care Center. M. J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of the choir at Grady Chapel CME Church. She leaves a daughter, Ida Coleman of Memphis; a son, John W. Ware of Byhalia, Miss.; two sisters, Katherine Goodman and Louise Culp, and a brother, Joe E. Moore, all of Memphis, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

SPARTA – Hazel Ware Vaughn, 64, retired nurse, died Friday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Amity Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home in Houston has charge. Mrs. Vaughn, the wife of Paul Vaughn, also leaves two daughters, Vickie Lynn Sutherland of Pittsboro and Ann Brand of Sparta; three sons, Paul Keith Vaughn of West Point, Tim Vaughn of Sparta and Terry Vaughn of Bruce; three sisters, Betty Wooldridge of Collinsville, Joyce Johns of Houston and Dorothy Lawson of Columbus; a brother, Charles Ware of Starkville, and 11 grandchildren.

William P. Ware Obituary, 1999

William P. “Bill” Ware died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in a hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

APISON — Levecha W. Ware, 89, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2001.

She was a member of Apison Baptist Church and the widow of Dayton Ware.

Survivors are a sister, Mary V. Jones of Chattanooga; two brothers, Luke Wilson of Chattanooga and Wink Wilson of Hixson.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Plowman Cemetery with the Rev. Junior Bryson and the Rev. John May officiating.

JASPER — Betty Ware, 65, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at her home.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Ware; sons, John and Lloyd Clark; daughter, Judy Clark; brothers, Nolan and Doug Isbell and Buck Jordan; sister, Ann Fry; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

ROSSVILLE — Cecila Hurst Ware, 81, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2002, in a local hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Hurst.

Mrs. Ware was of the Church of God faith.

She is survived by five sons, Murrell H. Hurst, Flintstone, Ga., James W. Hurst, Chickamauga, Ga., Luther David Hurst, Evensville, Tenn., Johnny C. Hurst, Hixson, Jonathan R. Hurst, Tiftonia; four daughters, Anna Ruth Smolik, East Lake, Shirley B. Bryson, Tiftonia, Patricia D. Waller, Rossville, Donna D. Marler, Chattanooga; brother, David Edward Filyaw, Harriman, Tenn.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Varner officiating.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. today and 4-9 p.m. Saturday.

Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery.

Ruby Evelyn McClure Ware Obituary, 2003

ROCK SPRING – Ruby Evelyn McClure Ware, 87, of the Noble, Ga., and Rock Spring communities, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Walker County and attended Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God. She was retired from TVA-Travel Unit after 24 years of service and was a member of the TVA Retiree Association. She attended Gordon Lee School and graduated from Edmondson School of Business.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lester McClure Sr. and Lucy Mullens McClure; sisters, Dorothy McCoy, Helen Blevins; and brother, Willie Lester “W.L.” McClure Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeannine O’Neal of LaFayette, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Benny and Louise Ware of Chickamauga, Ga.; grandchildren, Allen and Donna O’Neal of Ringgold, Ga., Pat and Sue O’Neal of LaFayette; great-grandchildren, Chandise Martin, Jeremy, Erin, Chase and Donovan O’Neal; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, in the J. Avery Bryan Chapel with the Rev. Henry Hampton and the Rev. Wayne Wallin officiating.

Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today and Sunday morning at the funeral home.
