“Organized in 1915 for the purpose of standardizing colors for the US textile trade, the non-profit Textile Color Card Association standardized colors for the federal and state governments, armed forces, and colleges in the 1920’s. After WWII, the Association standardized colors for the non-textile industries such as plastics, automotive, home appliances, paint, and entertainment… The association changed it’s name to Color Association of the United States in 1955… By 1981 Dolores J. Ware was Managing Director.”
