“On the night of March 25th the Electric Club met at the Press Club theatre with an attendance of ISO members present.  The programme was in the hands of a special committee of which M. L. A. Thompson, the company’s agent at Ballard, was the chairman.  There was a programme of vocal and instrumental numbers, refreshments, and an address by the chairman of the evening on the subject of the company’s business in Ballard, in which he presented a comparison of business detail at the time the Ballard company was taken over and as it is at present.  Following the other features there was a playlette called ‘It Happened at Stillwell’s Hardware Store,’ in which members of the sales department took part.  The purpose of the skit was to display the business-getting methods of the sales department, when brought into competition with the municipal service.  The author of the playlette was Dwight Ware, of the Sales department.  It had a cast of four people.”
