W.S. Ware (1897)

”Messrs. Ware and Benjamin brought before the meeting a point which they desired to be settled by the members.

Mr. Ware decided to shut down his Waldo factory for this year, intending to supply his trade by shipping ice to that point until he resumes, and thus retain his trade. Mr. Benjamin contended that as Mr. Ware did not expect to operate the plant in the near future, it therefore lost its right as a member of the Association, and its corresponding benefits. The matter was discussed in a friendly spirit, and both gentlemen stated that they would abide by the decision of the members present. The discussion was carried on at some length by the gentlemen named, and Messrs. Codington, Simmons, Pride and Canova. A motion was made and carried that the Waldo Ice Works be considered as a factory in standing.”
