Hi, I’m desperately looking for any information on my great grandfather William Ware of Mobile, Alabama. My grandmother who is now deceased was only able to give us what she knew of him. He was supposedly a former slave who eventually joined the Navy in which he ended up in the Philippines. He had I believe 6 children and my grandmother was one of them, Maria Viola Ware, she was born in 1926 and she told us that he was already an older man when she was a child. He died in the Philippines and we have no idea if he had siblings cousins or if he was even from Mobile. Hopefully someone on here is missing an uncle, cousin, etc off their family tree! There is a entire side of Black& Filipino Wares who have no idea where they descend from, we are desperate for any answers!
