My gr-father William H. Davis, Co. F 7th KY Inf, was from todays town of Corbin, Whitley Co.,KY. Wounded at Shiloh, his bro. killed. He stayed in until the end. I have his war time letters sent back home.
Names of RICE & IVERSON go back to Baptist in Caswell Co., and Richmond. Both went to TX and founded universities. Rice-Christian & Lea/Graves

Henry & John of Maysville, KY were probably brothers.
My fathers mother was third wife & 1/4 Cherokee. All her family were Confederates.
