PROFESSORS OF THEOLOGY

The Hollis Professorship of Divinity was founded by Thomas Hollis in 1721; the Bussey Professorship of Theology was established in 1869, under the bequest of Benjamin Bussey; the Parkman Professorship of Theology before 1869 was known as the Parkman Professorship of Pulpit Eloquence and the Pastoral Care. The Frothingham Professorship of the History of Religion was established in 1904, under the will of Frederick Frothingham (H. C. 1849)

PROFESSORS

THEORY AND PRACTICE OF PHYSIC

The chair established in 1783, received the title Hersey Professorship of the Theory and Practice of Physic in 1791, sharing the endowment made by the wills of Ezekiel Hersey, M. D. (H. C. 1728), and Sarah Derby, his widow, and the bequest of Abner Hersey, M. D., who died in 1793. The Williams Professorship of Ophthalmology, established in 1898, was endowed by Henry Willard Williams (M. D. 1849).

The Edward Wigglesworth Professorship of Dermatology was founded in 1906 in memory of the late Edward Wigglesworth, M. D. (H. C. 1861), by a gift from Jane Norton Grew, Mary Stoddard Pickering, Henrietta G. Fitz, Sarah W. Wigglesworth and George Wigglesworth (H. C. 1874).

The Walter Augustus Lecompte Professorship of Otology was founded in 1907 by a gift from Francis D. Lecompte in memory of Walter A. Lecompte, M. D. (H. C. 1893).
