Mrs. Estella M. Ware Fleer, Obituary, 1966

“Mrs. Estella M. Fleer, 84, of 342 S. Davis died at the home of her son, John Fleer at 1718 W. Second, Sunday at 1:20 a.m. following an illness of several months.
The daughter of James and Ellen Cosper Ware, she was born in Wapello County March 2, 1881. She had lived in the county and Ottumwa all her life.
She was a member of Willard Street Methodist Church. Her marriage to Peter H. Fleer took place April 12, 1898 in Wapello County. He preceded her in death Aug. 12, 1938.
Survivors include her son, John; three daughters, Mrs. Ella Kershaw of Ottumwa, Mrs. Gertrude Fuller of Agency and Mrs. Lillian Miller of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and brothers, Ed and John Ware, both of Ottumwa and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Swanson and Mrs. Mary Leonard both of Ottumwa.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, a granddaughter, three great-grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.
The service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in charge of the Rev. C. S. Whitehouse of Westminister Presbyterian Church.
Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James and William Leonard, John, Glen, Edward and Allen Ware.”
