“James Catesby Ware, 86, owner of Ware’s General Store, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000.

He was a lifetime member of the Rappahannock Christian Church, where he served as an Elder and Sunday school teacher.

Survived by his wife of 56 years, Agnes H. Ware; two sons, James Catesby Ware Jr. of Norfolk, and Peter Highsmith Ware of Toronto, Canada; a sister, Lila Ware Palmer of Richmond; three brothers, Joseph Latane Ware of Dunnsville, Guilford Dudley Ware of Norfolk, and Henry McWane Ware of Newport News; and one granddaughter, Catherine C. Ware.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m Saturday in the Rappahannock Christian Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Marks-Bristow Funeral Home.”
