“SARAH ELIZABETH WARE, Mrs. Wednesday, January 21, 1953 / Thursday, January 22, 1953 / Friday, January 23, 1953 / Saturday, January 24, 1953 Age 79, in the 80th year of the her age, widow of JAMES EDWARD WARE and daughter of THOMAS HENRY and Mrs. MARTHA LYNCH FORREST, died at a Norfolk hospital Tuesday, January 20, 1953 at 5:15 pm. She was a native of Mathews County and a resident of Norfolk 34 years, residing at 1215 Redgate Avenue at the time of her death. Surviving her are 3 sons, JAMES ROBERT WARE, EDWARD LINWOOD WARE and HERBERT LYNCH WARE, all of Norfolk; 3 daughters, Mrs. J.S. TOWLER and Mrs. R.L. HARCUM, both of Norfolk; and Mrs. DAVID STUART of Florida; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The body was taken to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts, pending arrangements. Funeral services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts, 1501 Colonial Avenue, Friday, January 23, 1953 at 11:00 am by the Rev P. ROWLAND WAGNER, pastor of Central Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: HARRY B. AKERS, C.E. BENNETT, Captain R.D. SADLER, Captain C.A. OWENS, A.B. OWENS and I.S. OWENS.”
