Civil War Confederate Officer. As a resident of Troup County, Georgia, he enlisted as a 1st Sergeant on April 26, 1861 and was mustered into Company B of the 4th Georgia Infantry. On October 17, 1861, he was promoted to Second Lieutenant and was at that rank when he was killed in action at the Battle of Seven Pines, VA.
