UNTIMELY DEATH
Of Miss Mary Ware After a Long
Illness of Consumption
Miss Mary E. Ware daughter of
Mr. J. Dudley Ware died Monday
night at her home in this city of
consumption She had been an in-
valid for four years or more and
met her fate with christian resigna-
tion. All that medical skill and
change of climate could do was
done by her fond father, but the
dread disease slowly destroyed her
young life until the end came and
she tell asleep, Not long ago she
was brought home from Asheville
N. C. where she had spent many
months in a vain effort to prolong
her life. When she came home it
was known that she could live but
a little while longer, but she bore
her sufferings with patience
christian fortitude, with no fear of
death. She was a young lady of
the most lovable character and her
short life of eighteen years was full
of love and kindness. She had been
a member of the Baptist church
since childhood.
The funeral services were held at
the Baptist church Wednesday
morning at 10 o’clock conducted by
Rev. C. H. Nash. Several songs
were sung by Messrs J. M. Star-
ling, Bailey Waller, Clifton Long
and Edmund Starling. Rev. W. L.
Nourse offered a feeling prayer and
brief and simple services followed
The floral offerings were very pro-
fuse and unusually handsome. The
flowers were taken to the cemetery
on a large transfer wagon and
banked upon the new made grave.
